Come out and see our booth at Pick-a-Pooch Adoption Days!

Pets in Omaha will host its Pick-a-Pooch Adoption Days at Ralston Arena this summer! The event is on July 15 and 16, 2017, and will be held on the main floor and arena concourse at 7300 Q Streets from 11 am until 4 pm. This will be the fourth installment of the event and it is lining up to be the largest to date.

Along with rescue groups and shelter organizations that show off adoptable animals at the event, you’ll find all kinds of family fun, raffles, dozens of pet-loving vendors and much more. Admission, thanks to our corporate sponsors, is free.

Two presentations will be made each day starting a 1:00 pm. Kelley McAtee of Dharma Dog Training will be presenting demonstrations on both Saturday and Sunday, as will Cindy Downing of Whisper in My Ear. Dharma Dog Training will be offering a demonstration on Canine Communication which will cover canine body language, stress signals and how to understand, communicate and advocate for your dogs. Kelley will also be doing some demonstrations of her signature “communicative leashwork” that helps dogs understand their owners. Cindy Downing will be giving tips on how to make a smooth transition when adopting a rescue dog, she’ll be sharing some stories of animal communication, and she’ll share a few things animals have communicated to her about their humans and the need to understand and know them. Finally, she’ll be giving a demo of a animal communication session. Cindy can do the demo from either a live animal or by looking at a photo of the animal.

You may bring your well-behaved dogs as long as they are on a non-retractable leash. Parking is free, many booths will have free items, and you’ll learn about many parts of our pet community!
